iPod Fires and Lithium Ion Batteries

Recently there has been a lot of talk about lithium ion batteries causing iPod fires. Many iPod fires have been traced to lithium ion batteries. The lithium ion batteries are used in laptops, iPods and many other consumer electronic items.

There has been a rash of iPod fires in Japan. Several reports of iPod fires in the United States have also traced the problem to the batteries. Many iPod batteries can be overcharged and cause problems that will relate to the iPod battery going bad.

If you have problems with your iPod overcharging, getting really hot or not holding a charge for very long, you should get a new iPod battery. You can send your Ipod out to get the battery replaced or have it replaced by yourself. You can replace your own iPod battery before your Ipod catches fire.
